We, the Olivet Reformed Church, believe the main reason for our existence
is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. We also believe that we are
part of Christ's Body, with Jesus as the Head. Because we are committed
to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and to the fulfillment of His command
to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, we believe
these four principles must guide our life and ministry:
- God must be the highest value in our lives, therefore we will
place worship as the central activity of our common life and ministry.
Our worship will express the best we have to offer to God and will arise
from the whole community of God's people.
- We are the Body of Christ in the world, therefore we will reach
out to others in Jesus' Name, beginning in our homes, extending into our
communities, reaching to the farthest corners of the world. We will go
beyond the Walls of our church building to show the love of Jesus to
others where they are and in ways that meet their needs.
- We are commanded to make disciples, therefore we will provide
opportunities for people to grow into maturity in Christ. We will build
up on another in Christ through God's Word and prayer as we meet together
to share, support, and care for one another.
- We believe that all members of the church are gifted for ministry,
therefore we will equip, guide, and support one another in the use of our
various gifts. For this purpose we accept the spiritual disciplines of
hearing, reading, studying, memorizing, and meditating upon the applying
the Word of God.
