We are a community of people committed to serving Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Savior and Lord. We are part of the Reformed Church in America,
which is the oldest Protestant denomination in America that has an unbroken history dating back to the early 1600's. But more importantly, we are an
integral part of the one great Body of Christ throughout history and throughout the world!
Building on a rich heritage of positive, God-centered worship, we also make use of many of today's contemporary worship resources to bring joyful praise and glory to God. We are a church that welcomes and cares about people of all ages, races and stations of life. We show God's love not just in word but in deed as well. Encouraging and supporting one another is a high value for us. When one hurts, others seek to help in loving and practical ways. In addition to strong Sunday School, Youth, Men and Women's ministries, we also reach out to at-risk children through our Kids Hope USA ministry, and each year we sponsor a block party for our entire neighborhood. We also have an emergency housing ministry. There is much more - including regional, national and international ministries that we are very much involved with. It is not possible to share it all with you in this small space. But I do want to say this. If you are curious and want to learn more about Jesus Christ and the faith we live by, or if you are hurting and need a place to find rest and encouragement, or if you are new to the area and are looking for a church to feel at home in, come and see for yourself what God is doing among us at Olivet. |
